Magic Kingdom Disney Romance

When visiting the Magic Kingdom, the last thing you probably think about is Disney romance. You most likely picture a bunch of kids running from ride to ride, cotton candy in hand, wearing Mickey Mouse ears! Am I right? Well, although Disney World has become a popular destination for families, the experts at the Walt Disney World Resort acknowledge the many needs and wishes of their diverse guests. So, just about whatever the needs of each guest... they have made sure to include in their accommodations. Disney romance? Of course! So, get out those glasses of champagne and get ready for the ultimate romantic experience and first class service!

Restaurants

The Magic Kingdom serves up a perfect blend of Disney romance with signiture dishes and atmospheric surroundings.

Crystal Palace
The Crystal Palace is located just around the corner at the end of Main Street. The beautiful, almost all glass, building allows for a perfect view of the castle just beyond a beautiful flowered landscape and duck-filled pond. (For more Disney romance, try to make your reservation for dinner. The lit castle changes colors and the trees are illuminated with white twinkling lights!) The Crystal Palace offers a wide variety of delicious dishes in an all you can eat buffet. Menu options often include:
Peel and eat Shrimp
A variety of Salads
BBQ Chicken
Seafood Caesar Pasta
Arroz Con Pallo (Chicken with Rice and Tomatoes)
Chef carved Ham
Chef carved Prime Rib
Roasted Red Potatoes
Grilled Seasoned Vegetables
Kids menu items
LOTS of YUMMY Desserts!

Cost: Adult- $21.99 plus tax and gratuity. Drinks cost extra.

WARNING! Although this restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, food, and service... it is a character dining experience. Therefore, if you wish not to be pestered by Winnie the Pooh and his friends, and you would like a quieter Disney romance experience without oodles of kids parading the dining room... you may want to dine elsewhere. Personally, I like it! But it's up to you.

Liberty Tree Tavern
The Liberty Tree Tavern is located in the Liberty Square across from the Haunted Mansion. This colonial themed restaurant serves up traditional New England dishes and other American classics. With the superb offerings of fresh, home-like food and friendly service, this is my favorite restaurant inside Magic Kingdom. Below are just a few of the menu items offered there:
Crab Cakes (My favorite!)
New England Clam Chowder
Declaration Salad with Strawberry Vinaigrette or Roasted-garlic Buttermilk Dressing
Cider-cured Salmon
New England Pot Roast
Pilgrim's Feast (Roast Turkey and dressing, Mashed Potatoes, and Vegetables)
Grilled Turkey and Provolone Panini
Roast beef and Swiss
Creamy Marinara and Chicken Pasta
Caramel Apple Tart
Butter Griddled Pound Cake
Liberty Shortcake
And Signiture drinks with a souvenir mug

WARNING! This restaurant changes the menu for dinner and offers character dining ,family style, at that time. For a more peaceful and atmospheric dining experience, choose to make a lunch reservation. There's usually not a lot of kids eating here for lunch, since there are no characters until dinner hours.

Tony's Town Square Restaurant
This restaurant is a replica of Tony's from the infamous Lady and the Tramp love scene. In an environment filled with Disney romance, enjoy sharing a plate of pasta with your special someone! Served up fresh and steamy, the authentic Italian cuisine will spice up your dining experience on a "Bella Notte"! Menu items include:
Calamari
Garlic Breadsticks
Salad
Baked Ziti
Chicken Parmigiana
Grilled Chicken Panini
Grilled Italian Panini
Grilled Salmon
Meatball Sub
Pasta Primavera
Pizza
Shrimp Pasta
Spaghetti
Vegetable Calzone
Fresh Daily Seafood Catch
Veal T-bone
Eggplant Rotini
New York Strip Steak

*TIP* These menu examples are just a few of what is offered. Certain food items are only sold at lunch and others are only sold at dinner. For more details on the menu ask a Disney Cast Member when you make your reservation for Disney romance at this restaurant. (407)WDW-DINE.

Cinderella's Royal Table
Dine with royalty by eating with Disney princesses for breakfast or lunch. Dinner is served with a special magical guest... the Fairy Godmother. Overlooking Fantasyland, the dining room features lots of renaissance detail and "Sparkling Effects" to make your meal enjoyable and romantic! Package prices for this Disney romance dining experience range from $33.00 to $41.00 per adult, depending on the meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), and include a photo package souvenir. Menu items include some of the following:

Breakfast
A traditional breakfast with Scrambled eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Cheese Danish, Fresh Fruit, Breakfast Breads, Potato Casserole, juice, and coffee is served in a buffet.

Lunch
This meal includes a family salad, prosciutto, cheese, choice of one entree including; Salmon, Pasta Pomadore, and Pork Tenderloin, and Blueberry Cobbler for dessert.

Dinner
For dinner you may choose one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. Such options are:
BLT Salad
Vegetable Spring Roll
Corn and Crab Soup
Prime Rib
Grilled Pork Tenderloin
Spice Rubbed Roast Chicken
Braised Lamb Shank
Pan Seared Salmon
Cheese Tortellini
Blueberry Buckle with Lemon Ice Cream
Chocolate Mousse Cake
Raspberry Sorbet

WARNING! As with all the other forementioned restaurants... there will be children present at this particular location. My suggestion is that for quieter and more mature surroundings, you choose a restaurant outside of the parks. If you don't mind the kids, however, and want to experience true Disney romance magic at the Magic Kingdom... TRY THEM ALL!!!! You won't be disappointed.

Attractions

Nothing says Disney romance like holding hands on a carousel... squeezing each other tight as you take the plunge down a steep hill... or cuddling up close as you fly above a beautifully lit scene.

Peter Pan's Flight
Float in a magical ship with Tink above the glittering lights of London and sail into the night following the second star to the right. Once in Never Land glide above mermaids, and those rascally Lost Boys as they battle Captain Hook and his crew! This ride is easy flowing and a good opportunity to smooch in the dark!

It's a Small World
Ok, I know. Not exactly the most romantic song to be floating through your head all day, but it's just not a true Disney romance experience if you don't ride It's a Small World! So make the best of it and hold hands during the ride, or better yet... steal a sneaky kiss in the back seat of the boat! Just remember not to rock it!

Cinderella's Golden Carousel
On your way to "Happily Ever After", you should stop and enjoy a ride on this charming carousel overlooking Cinderella's Castle. To add even more Disney romance, make the man stand next to you while riding on your noble white horse! That's right ladies... might as well train him now! Teach him how to be your Prince Charming!

The Haunted Mansion
Welcome Foolish Mortals to... a real romantic ride! Just hold onto your man as you explore a haunted mansion filled with ghosts that are "dying to meet you". Pssst... it helps to act totally terrified so he'll hold onto you extra tight! Participate in a seance with Madame Leota before you join a swinging wake in the ballroom. 999 happy haunts materialize in the graveyard to serenade you as you make your exit. Oh, I should mention one little thing... beware of hitchhiking ghosts!

Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain is another chance to hold each other tight as you plummett. Take a plunge down a five-story hill into the Briar Patch and explore Brer Rabbit's happy place. This ride get's the adrenaline pumpin' and cools you down at the same time! Gotta love it!

Pirate's of the Caribbean
Ahoy, Matey! Set sail on an adventurous journey to find (the handsome hunk) Jack Sparrow! Did I say that out loud? Hmmm Hmmm... Anyway.... enjoy the classic animatronic pirate figures along with new and updated special effects and characters inspired by the movie! This ride is in a boat and in the dark. Arrrr! If you ask me, I think this be the perfect opportunity for some lootin'... and smoochin'! Savvy?

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Experience a "Whole New World" of Disney romance on this flying carpet ride. Snuggle up and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of Adventureland as you fly high above it. What a perfect chance to join the 30 ft high club! Ha!

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
What's a little friendly competition among lovers? A blast! Hop on and blast away aliens with your laser guns as you spin through this glow in the dark ride with Buzz Lightyear! At the end of the ride compare scores and challenge each other for another spin! Come on, lady space rangers! I know you're capable of beating your man! Make me proud!

The Walt Disney World Railroad
The People Mover
The Main Street Trolley/Vehicles
What do all three of these have in common? Rest, relaxation, and Disney ROMANCE! Take a long ride on one of these attractions and snuggle, hold hands, kiss.... whatever you desire (crowd appropriate)!

Disney Romance Recommendations

On the pathway to Tomorrowland from the front of the Castle is Cinderella's wishing well and a cozy seating area. Take advantage of the little to nothing crowd in this area and share a Disney romance moment with your loved one. This would also make a great location for a proposal!

Take the Ferry Boat to the park instead of the Monorail. The wind in your hair and the calm waters provide extra romance, (especially on the top deck) as you're leaning against the railings with his arms wrapped tight around you!

On Main Street find a bench and soak in the entertainment such as "The Dapper Dans Barbershop Quartet", and taste some delightful treats at the Main Street Bake Shop or the Ice Cream Parlor. Enjoying the nostalgic sights and sounds of Main Street evokes a since of good old fashioned pleasure!

Enjoy a tasty treat outside of Casey's Corner at one of the tables. You will be serenaded by a ragtime piano while you overlook the castle just beyond a beautiful floral landscape and duck-filled pond.

You absolutely MUST share a Dole Whip pinapple soft serve treat in Adventureland. The seating area provided is surrounded by beautiful tropical flowers. You'll think you died and went to tropical paradise when you try this RARE treat!

Bring two glasses and a bottle of champagne to watch the "Wishes" Nighttime Spectacular on a Fireworks Cruise aboard one of the exclusive watercrafts offered at select Disney resorts.
